Austrian blinds differs form Festoon
blinds in being permanently rushed only at the base while a Festoon is permanently
rushed from top to base. Festoon are intrinsically decorative and the
rushing of the additional
fabric makes them even more elaborate and extravagant. For this reason , the fabric and
the form of the blinds should be kept as simple as possible. Austrian can be rather ornate
or lavish; some have frills at the sides and base, and ribbons as well these can look good
when left to rest about half-way up a window. They look their best in interiors with
fairly generous, classical proportion, particularly
if the room is graced with elegant
architraves and attractive molding.
